Laundry Design Considerations for a 30 Bed Nursing Home

Laundry Location
For delivery, installation and practical purposes, commercial laundries should be sited on the ground floor of the proposed building. From an aesthetic viewpoint, it is advantageous to locate laundries away from entrances, external seating areas or other points of interest. Local planning regulations should also be consulted with regards to the proximity of laundries to kitches and other food preparation areas.

Laundry Dimensions
For a 30-bed nursing home, the ideal size is 30 square metres. However, this figure will fluctuate depending on the individual needs and specification of each client. For example, some sites prefer to have separate storage areas, which reduces the need for storage within the laundry.
